Alison Hermon is an artist, living and exhibiting in the Brighton area. Alongside this, for the last six years she has worked full time as a subject tutor in the Art and Design Department of the School of Education at the University of Brighton, teaching on PGCE and undergraduate courses. Her background includes working as an Art and Design teacher in special and mainstream schools (in London and Brighton), as well as in gallery education (including the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London). She holds the 'Teacher of the Year in a Special School' award (1999) for the Southern region as part of the National Teaching Awards initiative.

The ‘Re-imagined Worlds’ installation is currently touring as part of the ICHF’s Creative Stitches & Hobbycrafts: ‘Reclaim, Reuse, Recycle’ exhibition showing at: Exeter: 25-28 Sept 08; Harrogate 3-5 Oct; Cardiff 30 Oct – 1 Nov; Brighton 6-8 Feb 09; Glasgow 5-8 Mar 09; Birmingham 12-15 Mar 09; Liverpool 24-26 April 09. www.ichf.co.uk/creativestitches
