Coat Tales - May 2009
The work for this installation has been inspired by memories connected with particular coats I have worn at different times of my life. In this sense they have a history and an identity although these have not all been formally documented. Some are ‘captured’ in snapshots and some are just distant memories. However, all have ‘coat tales’ to tell, as whilst being worn they have witnessed journeys through time and space and experienced unique and memorable moments. Sounds of the sea were incorporated into this installation as all coats were worn in towns around the coast.
